In this conversation, Karuhanga and El-Hadi will explore the unknown as a site, and the unknowable as a particular experience for gendered Black bodies, and what this means for artistic production. This event is in support of the exhibition “Ineffable Blaze” which can be viewed and experienced at Trinity Square Video until March 3, 2018.
Nehal El-Hadi is a writer, researcher, and cultural producer whose work explores the relationships between technology, the body, and space. She is based in Toronto, where she is currently a Visiting Scholar at the City Institute at York University. She tweets @iamnehal.
Jessica Karuhanga is an artist whose practice undulates through movement, video, and drawing. She lives and works in Toronto where she teaches performance art and visual studies at University of Toronto, St. George.
